The information reveals the federal government gave up on complete tax income value ₹3.7 lakh crore in 2023-24 as a result of deductions and exemptions it offered to company, non-corporate, particular person, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), and customs taxpayers.
This is up from income foregone of ₹3.4 lakh crore in 2019-20, ₹2.7 lakh crore in 2020-21, ₹3.1 lakh crore in 2021-22, and ₹3.3 lakh crore in 2022-23.
