Afghanistan Refutes Pakistan’s Claim of Indian Missile Attack on its Territory
Kabul: Afghanistan has categorically rejected claims made by Pakistan that Indian missile strikes, launched amidst recent tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad, landed on Afghan soil. Officials in Kabul have termed the allegations “baseless and unfounded.”

The denial from Kabul came after a Pakistani military spokesperson alleged that India had launched drone and missile strikes that impacted parts of Afghanistan.Speaking to Afghan media outlet Hurriyat Radio, Enaitullah Khawarzmi, spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense, firmly denied the Pakistani assertion. He stated, “There is no truth to such claims,” outright rejecting the possibility of Indian missile strikes occurring on Afghan territory.
Echoing this sentiment, Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Secretary, also dismissed Pakistan’s claims during a special media briefing in New Delhi. He described the allegations as “completely ludicrous” and “totally frivolous.” Misri further added that the Afghan people are well aware of which country has repeatedly targeted civilian populations and infrastructure in Afghanistan over the past year and a half, an apparent reference to past incidents involving Pakistan.
The refutation from Afghanistan highlights the differing narratives surrounding the recent exchange of hostilities between India and Pakistan. While Pakistan has made various claims regarding the impact of Indian military actions, Afghanistan’s denial directly challenges one of these assertions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan had earlier expressed concern over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, notably Afganistan and the people of always considered India as a friend and the current Taliban led government is committed to developing Afganistan and termed India as “Significant Regional Partner“.
