A person from Bihar’s Siwan district has been arrested for posing as jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s aide to allegedly threaten Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha, officers stated on Saturday.

The accused had allegedly warned Kushwaha in opposition to talking a couple of explicit political social gathering and threatened to “finish him” inside 10 days.

“Police registered a case on the premise of a written criticism filed by the non-public secretary of the Rajya Sabha MP. In his criticism, it was alleged that dying threats have been acquired by Kushwaha from an individual belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on June 19.

The arrested individual has no reference to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and he was previously related to the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) headed by Kushwaha, police stated. The RLM is an alliance associate of the NDA.

Further investigation is underway.
