Himachal local weather: The native meteorological centre issued a ‘yellow’ warning for thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometre per hour (kmph) in all 12 districts on May 27 and 28.

Over 20 autos parked on the roadside have been damaged in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district on Saturday (May 24) following flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nirmand Manmohan Singh said no casualties have been reported inside the incident. He added that heavy rains triggered flash floods inside the dry Sharshaya Nallah, damaging spherical 20-25 autos near Jagat Khana in Nirmand.

Meanwhile, Hindustan-Tibet Road, National Highway-5, was blocked at Jhakri between Rampur and Kinnaur attributable to particles falling from the hills. Videos of autos being swept away by the floods and particles are circulating on social media. The stage of the Satluj River has moreover risen.

While locals claimed the incident was attributable to a cloudburst, the administration attributed it to heavy rains. Sirmaur Solan Shimla Mandi Kullu Kangra Chamba A moist spell has been forecast for the next six days, though the local weather remained largely dry on Saturday. The Met office moreover predicted gentle rainfall at a few places inside the elevated hills and lightweight to affordable rain at many places in mid-hills and plains on May 27 and 28. Light rain at isolated places in elevated hills and at a few places in mid-hills and plains is predicted on May 25. 

Rohru acquired 10 mm rainfall, adopted by 2.6 mm in Jubbarhatti, 2.4 mm in Jubbal, and a pair of mm in Chamba . Gusty winds with speeds between 37 and 56 km per hour have been recorded in Reckongpeo, Tabo, Kotkhai, Bahaura, Seobag, and Narkanda, the office said.

There was no important change in minimal and most temperatures, with Una recording the perfect temperature inside the state at 39.2 ranges Celsius and Keylong the underside at 7.3 ranges Celsius.
