The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Sunday evening rescued 11 individuals from a sinking service provider within the Bay of Bengal by conducting a coordinated sea-air search and rescue operation. The service provider vessel was en route from Kolkata to Port Blair, officers stated. ICG ships Sarang and Amogh, supported by a Dornier plane undertook the operation in extraordinarily inclement sea situations. As per the Coast Guard, the service provider ship, ITT Puma sank 90 nautical miles (nm) south of Sagar Island.
