The sufferer, Shadab (19), a resident of Bengaluru, had returned to his ancestral village in Nagaur, Bahraich, to attend his maternal uncle’s wedding ceremony.
Additional superintendent of police Ramanand Prasad Kushwaha mentioned the homicide came about on the evening of June 20.
“Shadab was reported lacking on June 21, and his physique was found later that day close to a dilapidated tube nicely in a guava orchard outdoors the village. Shadab’s throat had been slit with a knife, and his head was bludgeoned with a brick,” an officer informed PTI.
Based on their investigation, police on Saturday detained two minors aged 14 and 16.
“During questioning, the 2 youngsters confessed to the crime, saying that they wanted a high-quality cell phone to make higher reels. They admitted to planning the homicide 4 days earlier, particularly concentrating on Shadab’s iPhone,” the officer added.
Victim lured on pretext of constructing reels
“On the evening of the incident, they lured Shadab to a secluded space outdoors the village on the pretext of constructing reels. There, they attacked him, slit his throat after which crushed his head with a brick,” the officer mentioned.
Police have recovered Shadab’s iPhone, the knife used within the homicide, and the brick.
A case has been registered towards 4 individuals, together with the 2 minor accused and their relations, below sections 103(1) (homicide) and 238 (concealment of proof) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
While the minors and their relations initially fled their properties after the physique was discovered, each youngsters have been apprehended on Thursday.
