“The phrase secular was not there within the Constitution initially, it was added later. That is why it doesn’t align with the character of the Indian Constitution, and this subject is repeatedly raised,” Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati informed information company ANI.
According to him, ‘dharma’ means to consider proper and incorrect and to undertake the suitable and to reject the incorrect. “To become secular means that we have nothing to do with right or wrong. This cannot happen in anyone’s life. So this word is also not right,” the Shankaracharya mentioned.

The assertion comes within the wake of a much-discussed remark by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh second-in-command Dattatreya Hosabale advocating that the phrases “secular” and “socialist” within the Preamble of the Constitution be reviewed.
He mentioned the phrases have been added throughout the Emergency and weren’t a part of the unique textual content drafted by BR Ambedkar.
Congress leaders have slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party and the RSS over Dattatreya’s remark whereas Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have spoken in help of his demand.

In a letter addressed to the RSS Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat, the CPI MP mentioned it’s time the RSS cease inflaming these debates for the sake of polarisation. He additionally mentioned the phrases weren’t “arbitrary insertions” however “foundational beliefs”.
