
Haridwar stampede: Six killed, a number of injured; prima facie hearsay of electrical shock results in chaos, say police

Haridwar SSP Parmendra Singh Dobal stated, “Prima facie, rumours of electrical shock to a devotee panicked others on the spot resulting in the stampede.”
Mr. Dobal informed PTI Videos that 35 folks had been rushed to a hospital, of whom six died.
According to officers, the incident befell at round 9.30 a.m.. The State Disaster Response Force and the hearth brigade are on the spot, he stated.
Situation being monitored: Uttarakhand CM Dhami on Mansa Devi stampede
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday (July 27, 2025) stated he was saddened by the stampede on the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar and asserted that the scenario was being monitored.
Several folks have been feared useless and injured within the incident on the famed temple on Sunday morning.
“Very unhappy information has been obtained a couple of stampede on the way in which to Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar. SDRF, native police and different rescue groups have reached the spot and are engaged in aid and rescue operations,” Mr. Dhami stated in a submit on Facebook.
“I’m continuously in contact with the native administration on this regard and the scenario is being continuously monitored. I pray to Mata Rani for the security of all of the devotees,” he added.
