A member of the banned CPI (Maoist), who had a bounty of Rs 5 lakh on his head, was killed in a gunfight with safety forces in Jharkhand’s Latehar district on Monday, a senior police official confirmed.
Another Maoist, recognized as Kundan Kherwar, was arrested throughout the identical operation, the official added. The encounter between safety forces and the Maoists befell on Sunday night time in a forest close to Dauna, falling below the Mauhadand Police Station limits.
“Manish Yadav, who had a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head, was killed in the exchange of fire with the security forces. Another Maoist, Kundan Kherwar, was arrested,” Palamu DIG YS Ramesh advised PTI.
Kherwar is claimed to be carrying a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head, though DIG Ramesh famous that the reward on him is but to be formally verified.
Follows earlier operation killing two maoists

Joint operation by CRPF and Jharkhand Police

According to DIG Ramesh, Lohra was wished in as many as 98 instances, together with homicide, extortion, and arson, spanning a number of districts similar to Lohardaga, Gumla, Chatra, Palamu, and Latehar.
His affiliate, Prabhat Ganjhu, was wished in 15 instances. Both have been allegedly concerned within the killing of Jharkhand Jaguar deputy commandant Rajesh Kumar throughout an operation in September 2021.
