
Nod to Centres debt, fairness share in 2,360 crore Zaheerabad Industrial Area challenge
The authorities has accepted Centre’s contribution, via National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), consisting of ₹596 crore as fairness and ₹655 crore in the direction of debt, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada mentioned, replying to a query from Member of Parliament Kadiyam Kavya.
The challenge, beneath the HNIC node positioned in Sangareddy district, has an activation space of three,245 acres. A particular function car, NICDIT Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City, has been included for the challenge and tendering works for choice of Project Management for New Cities (PMNC) has began, he mentioned.
Responding to queries of Dr. Kavya on the Hyderabad-Nagpur and Hyderabad-Warangal industrial corridors, the Union Minister mentioned that in August 2024, the Centre had accepted Telangana authorities’s proposal for growth of Zaheerabad node as a part of HNIC beneath National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP).
As a part of the Hyderabad-Warangal Industrial Corridor (HWIC), Hyderabad Pharma City was initially recognized for growth. As the State authorities failed to verify the challenge, NICDIT Board of Trustees on June 8, 2022, determined to drop the challenge.
Mr. Prasada mentioned that primarily based on the proposal of the State authorities, the Centre had granted closing approval to the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Sangareddy (previously Medak) district on January 22, 2016, and Hyderabad Pharma City NIMZ in Rangareddy district on December 10, 2019.
