Bengaluru:�The Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Committee will come be constituted by Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce in all its related associations to make sure security of ladies. A call on the structure of the PoSH Committee was taken at a gathering chaired by Karnataka Women’s Commission Chairman Dr Nagalakshmi Chowdhary attended by president of Kannada Film Chamber Commerce Suresh amongst others.

Besides, the president of Film Chambers assured the chairman of the Women’s Commission to look into fundamental facilities for girls on the office amongst different calls for. After the assembly, Nagalakshmi stated the committee will instill a way of worry that any wrongdoing will entice punishment. It can even guarantee the protection of ladies on the office.

A letter to Film Chambers can be written asking for the structure of a PoSH Committee and in return the Film Chamber will reply to the Women’s Commission after the Committee is fashioned, she stated.

A survey can be carried out to assemble from girls hooked up to the movie area in the event that they confronted any harassment on the office and such particulars can be saved confidential. The survey particulars will come in useful to formulate a Policy/Act on security of ladies in Kannada movie area.

The assembly convened by Women’s Commission on the instructions of State Government after the members of Film Industry for Rights and Equality (FIRE) in a memorandum urged for a committee headed by a retired Judge both of High Court or the Supreme Court to check and report on points confronted by girls together with sexual harassment, if any.

The memorandum to the State Government on September 4 was submitted by president of FIRE Kavitha Lankesh who can be a Director.

In the memorandum to the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Kavitha Lankesh identified the Justice Hema Committee’s report highlighting systemic points confronted by girls together with sexual harassment in Malayalam Film Industry and felt the necessity for extra complete measures to create a protected and equitable working setting for girls in Kannada movie trade.

Prior to the assembly with Women’s Commission Dr Nagalakshmi, president of Kannada Film Chamber Suresh instructed reporters after he took over as president of Kannada Film Chamber he has not come throughout a single casting sofa incident and recalled sexual harassment criticism by actress Shruthi Hariharan a few years again.
