Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4) crew members departed from the orbiting laboratory on Monday (July 14, 2025) onboard the SpaceX Dragon. The Ax-4 crew members’ return journey to Earth commenced at 4:45 p.m. IST because the Dragon autonomously undocked from the forward-facing port of the ISS’s Harmony module and would conclude with a splashdown off the California coast on Tuesday.

SpaceX stated that following a collection of orbital manoeuvres after undocking, the spacecraft would reenter and make a splashdown. “The spacecraft will now execute a collection of departure burns to maneuver away from the International Space Station. Dragon will reenter the Earth’s environment and splash down in ~22.5 hours off the coast of California,” the company stated in a submit on X.
Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla accomplished all seven microgravity experiments earlier than leaving the ISS. “Gaganyatri Shubhanshu Shukla has efficiently accomplished all seven microgravity experiments and different deliberate actions, reaching a big milestone within the mission. Experiments on Indian pressure of Tardigrades, Myogenesis, Sprouting of methi and moong seeds, Cyanobacteria, Microalgae, Crop seeds and Voyager Display have been accomplished as deliberate,” ISRO stated on Monday (July 14, 2025).
The journey again to earth would take about 22.5 hours.
