Taking to X, Mamdani on Wednesday declared his victory and thanked the voters who selected to rank him on the high of their lists.
Addressing his victory social gathering, the 33-year-old vowed to work in direction of making the lower extra inexpensive and “be a mayor for every New Yorker.”
“The energy belongs to the individuals,” he added.

“I would be the mayor for each New Yorker, whether or not you voted for me, for Governor Cuomo, or felt too disillusioned by a long-broken political system to vote in any respect. I’ll work to be a mayor you can be proud to name your personal,” Mamdani advised supporters.
Mamdani and Cuomo had been locked in a good contest within the race to turn out to be the democratic nominee for the November mayoral polls. Shortly after it was introduced that the race would advance to the ranked selection system, the previous New York governor conceded defeat.
“Tonight is his evening. He deserved it. He gained,” Cuomo advised his supporters.
While Mamdani has declared victory, the ultimate outcomes for the democratic major race will likely be declared on July 1. As per AP, with 93 p.c of the votes in, Mamdani secured a share of 43.5 p.c.
Mamdani to face Eric Adams, Curtis Sliwa
The New York mayoral polls are set to be held in November 2025. With Zohran Mamdani because the democratic candidate, he will likely be up in opposition to incumbent mayor Eric Adams and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
There are possibilities of Cuomo working being on the poll for the polls as an unbiased candidate. However, the previous governor is but to verify his plans.
The common election for the subsequent New York mayor will likely be held on November 4, 2025.
